We specialize in making exterior shutters that enhance your home for years to come. Each shutter is tailored to our client’s specification of size, style and finish. Whether you would like shutters for function or fashion, we will put our heart and soul into bringing your design to life. Our clients appreciate the care we take with our handcrafted work.
We first determine the design and dimensions of your shutters. Once we have the sizes, one of our designers creates a CAD drawing and gives it to a member of our production and assembly team.
If your shutters are made from Everwood, our CNC operator will get to work creating your shutters. One of our finishing technicians will run your shutters through our belt sander before hand sanding them to make sure they are ready for paint.
If your shutters are made from aluminum, our production team will start with cutting the appropriate pieces to length, based on the CAD drawings, on our special upcut saw. Then they will debur all the edges to make sure they are smooth before putting all the pieces together by hand. If you’ve chosen a powdercoat finish, we then tranport them to our powder coating specialist. If you’ve chosen a wet paint color from the Sherwin Williams color deck, we will bring them to our powerwashing staion to prep them for paint.
All our wet paint happens on-site in our industrial, cross-flow paint booth by one of our highly skilled painting technicians. We use PPG industrial paint and apply a specialty primer prior to the final coat, to ensure the best quality available.
When your shutters are dry and ready to be shipped, we will protect each one with bubble wrap before placing them in the crate. We will then send you a picture of your shutters all ready to go before closing the lid and scheduling pick-up.

Love my shutters! First, let me say Southern Crafted Shutters are NOT just order takers! They give suggestions that I never thought of and take pride in their work. I ordered Charleston Green Bermuda shutters. After they custom made them the color was off. I didn't tell them...they told me! They looked up the historically correct paint formula and corrected the color - PERFECT! Fast service, yet accurate, affordable and knowledgeable....so happy!

The complete experience from brainstorming to pick a design to receiving delivery and doing the installation of our shutters was a very smooth, pleasant and most effective transaction for us! We got contacted back most promptly after first contact and gotten very thorough and detailed answers back for any possible question we got giving us confidence to tackle our project all online and over the phone. After design was finalized very rapidly (and still without any pressure to purchase), we got an engineering/ fabrication drawing for our custom shutters, got photos of similar products explaining, what we would receive and an invoice without any hidden cost. After that, it was smooth sailing again until delivery also including a few regular updates about the status of the fabrication of our shutters (with photos ;o). When it eventually arrived all very well and safely packed inside a protective crate, all was in best order without any flaws and exactly as described and to the drawing with no surprises.
